Softball Tournament Rules & Guidelines

Bat Policy

  • We will go off the Combined Associations Approved Bat List.
  • 220/240 are allowed for Adult Play.
  • Senior bats must have the SSUSA NTS logo.
  • Any bat can be pulled from live play at the umpire’s discretion.
  • No shaved or altered bats (bat testing may occur at any time).

Pitching & Gameplay

  • Pitching from 3 ft behind the rubber.
  • Arc 6–10 ft — must have a pause.
  • Mat at home plate.
  • Game time: 55 minutes (Championship: 60 minutes).
  • Senior: Pitching screen optional in all divisions.

Home Run Limits

AAA 6 Hrs
Major 8 Hrs
Plus 10 Hrs
Mens, Coed, Womens See B/C/D/E below
B Division 10 Hrs
C Division 5 Hrs
D Division 3 Hrs
E Division 1 Hr
After Hrs just an Out in all Divisions.

Basepaths & Balls

  • Base distance: 65 ft.
  • Men’s ball: 12-inch Pro M or lower.
  • Women’s ball: 11-inch (any).
  • Senior: Any senior stamp ball.

Roster & Lineup

  • Must start with 9 players and end with 9 players.
  • Maximum 15 players on a roster.
  • May bat up to 12 players in the lineup in a game.

Footwear

  • No spiked cleats — must be rubber or turf.

Run Rules

Men’s B, C

  • 25 after 3 innings
  • 20 after 4 innings
  • 15 after 5 innings
  • Flip/Flop after 2nd/3rd; after 4th as applicable

Men’s D, E

  • 20 after 3 innings
  • 15 after 4 innings
  • 10 after 5 innings
  • Flip/Flop after 2nd/3rd; after 4th as applicable

Seniors

  • AAA/Major: 5 runs per inning
  • Plus: 7 runs per inning
  • Open inning is the last inning

Miscellaneous

  • No stealing.
  • 1 umpire per field (Championship game: 2 umpires).
